With the Gionee M7 Power, the company will mark its first device in India to sport the trending bezel-less display. Let’s have a closer look at what the phone will offer to its users.

Design and Display

In terms of design, the smartphone sports an aesthetic metal build with a reflective back that adds to its look. The fingerprint sensor is located at the back to make way for its large 6-inch HD+ display rocking a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The display is further enhanced with the aid of  2.5D glass to enhance the user experience. The front of the phone also boasts of slimmed down bezels bringing the overall screen-to-body ratio to 78.6%.

Performance and Storage

Underneath its hood, the upcoming phone from Gionee is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 435 ticking at 1.4GHz which is coupled with the Adreno 505 GPU. To keep the smartphone lag-free and maintain a seamless user interface, the company has packed in 4GB of RAM. On the storage front, the M7 Power will ship with 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded externally up to 256GB through the dedicated microSD card slot.

Camera and Software

For the shutterbugs, Gionee has provided a 13-megapixel autofocus primary camera located on the rear-side of the smartphone, which shares space with an LED flashlight as well. On the front-side, the smartphone is fitted with an 8-megapixel selfie camera for selfie enthusiasts. The selfie snapper is capable of capturing clear images and Full-HD videos at up to 30fps. As far as software is concerned, the device is expected to run the company’s custom OS which goes by the name of Amigo 5.0 and is built on top of Android 7.1 Nougat. The phone should also expect to be updated to the latest Android 8.0 Oreo in the coming months.

Battery and Connectivity

The second major highlight of this smartphone is its massive non-removable 5000 mAh Li-Po battery which is also suggested by the Power in its name. The battery is expected to last at least two days of use on a single charge. In addition to that, the phone also supports fast charging so you can top it off quickly when you’re in a tight schedule and expect it to last till you find a charging port. In terms of connectivity, the phone offers support for 2G, 3G, 4G VoLTE, dual-band WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro USB port for charging and data transfer.
