Google, in a bid to educate people about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), has introduced an online resource center. The platform is aimed at helping amateurs as well as professionals to learn and hone their ML skills. Initially, these courses were developed just for internal use, in order to teach fellow Googlers more about ML and AI. However, Google has decided to put it out in the open for all everyone.
The resource hub consists of several pieces of content which are easily filterable. At first, you can choose whether you are a: researcher, data scientist, software engineer, business decision maker, student or just a ‘curious cat’. Since there are multiple types of content on the platform, you can further filter what you are specifically interested in: video, documentation, tutorials, courses, sample code or interactive content. After choosing these two, you should be able to find out the learning material you are actually interested in. If not, you also get a third filter to choose the stage of ML development you are in, there are options such as: developing the idea, data collection, data preparation, model construction, model evaluation and model deployment.
The best part is that there is something for everyone. Even if you are someone just wanting to get a peek into the world of ML and AI, it is a great platform. Not only courses, but you also get to learn how to apply ML in the real world. So you can get the whole spectrum of Machine Learning covered under one roof.
Google, as we know is a firm highly reliant on AI and ML. Even CEO Sundar Pichai claimed once that Google will be moving towards becoming an “AI first” company. Thus, the search giant has several experts who are probably the best people in the world when it comes to these core subjects. So all the content on the ‘Learn with Google AI’ platform is made and curated by these experts. The company has also ensured that there will be a lot more additional courses and resources in the upcoming months. This is a great initiative by Google to educate people on futuristic skills.
Around 18,000 Google employees had already signed up for the free courses internally and created some actual Google products that we all currently use. Some of it includes Google’s Daydream VR headset, Google Earth and even the streaming quality on YouTube. This is evidence enough on how useful the free courses are.
So if you are interested in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, you have the best teachers in the world right at your disposal, make the most of it.
