The Google Nest Hub has officially been launched in India. It is a smaller version of the Nest Hub Max that was unveiled earlier this year alongside the mid-range Pixel 3a and 3a XL. Let’s take a look at the Nest Hub below:
Specifications and Features:
The Google Nest Hub sports a 7-inch display with touchscreen support. The device is equipped with a light sensor and two far-field microphones on the top bezel. The microphone allows the user to control smart devices with voice commands. There is a full-range speaker on the back with multi-audio room support. The device also comes with an Ambient EQ sensor to match the lighting in your room. The display can be used to play results from video services like YouTube, Netflix, Hotstar and music services like Spotify, Gaana, Saavn, Wynk etc. When not in use, the Nest Hub can also act as a digital photo frame that showcases photos or albums from Google Photos on the display.
The Nest Hub is integrated with Google Assistant and various Google services like Google Search, YouTube, and Google Photos. Users can ask Assistant to switch on/off smart lights, smart power sockets or keep an eye on the house by integrating the connected camera. Additionally, you can set daily routines that perform a series of actions by giving a single voice command like saying, ‘Hey Google, Goodnight’ to let the smart speaker set an alarm and turn off the connected lights. Google revealed that the users would be able to watch recipe videos on the Nest Hub through NDTV Food, Archana’s Kitchen, Tarladalal.com, Sifybawarchi, and Swasthi’s Recipes. Similarly, there is news content from NDTV and other outlets as well as kids videos from Pikachu and Chhota Bheem.
Google says that the Nest Hub is designed to control over 200 million devices from more than 3,500 brands, including LG, Oakter, Philips Hue, Syska, TP-Link, Xiaomi and Yeelight among others.
The Google Nest Hub is compatible with Android, iOS, Mac, Windows and MacBook devices. It supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity. The device comes with a 15W power adapter and a DC power jack.
