Yesterday Google launched a range of products including the Pixel 5, Pixel 4a 5G, Chromecast and Nest Audio. The search engine giant had confirmed that it won’t be bringing the Pixel 5 and 4a 5G to India. However, the 4G Pixel 4a launched in August will be arriving in the country this month.
Responding to a user query on Twitter, Google’s official Twitter handle revealed that the Pixel 4a will be available in India from October 17th. The smartphone will be available for purchase on shopping portal Flipkart. Google hasn’t announced the price of Pixel 4a for the Indian market yet.

Google Pixel 4a specifications and features
The Pixel 4a is the successor to last year’s Pixel 3a. It features a 5.8-inch punch-hole OLED display bearing an FHD+ resolution. The back of the phone houses a square camera module with a single 12MP sensor paired with an LED flash. The device comes with an 8MP front-facing selfie camera. The smartphone borrows camera-related features from Pixel 4. The Pixel 4a is equipped with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Pixel 4a is powered by a Snapdragon 730G SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It runs on a 3,140mAh battery unit with support for 18W charging via USB-C port. The Pixel 4a ships with Android 10 out of the box, but the Android 11 update is already available for the device. Google promises three years of OS and security updates for the phone.
Connectivity options on the Pixel 4a include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers.
Google Pixel 4a pricing and availability
The Google Pixel 4a costs $349 (~Rs 26,200) in the US. It is offered in an Only Black colour with a Mint Green power button. The smartphone is expected to carry a similar price tag in India.
