Google launched the successor to last year’s Pixel 3a, the Pixel 4a earlier this month. At the time, the company announced that the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 would be released this fall. Pricebaba has now obtained high-resolution 5K renders and a 360-degree video of the Pixel 5, via reliable tipster OnLeaks.

Google has already teased a glimpse of the Pixel 5 on its official blog, giving us a look at its sparkly finish and glossy power button. However, apart from those design details and the confirmation of 5G support, Google has kept the Pixel 5 largely under wraps. Apart from what we can see in the renders, OnLeaks has also shared some key details about the device, including its display size and dimensions.
Google Pixel 5 design and features
The Google Pixel 5 looks pretty similar to the Pixel 4A, barring the glittery finish and an extra camera at the rear. Just like the Pixel 4A, the Pixel 5 will feature a flat display with a punch-hole camera at the top-left corner. The screen will measure between 5.7 and 5.8-inches.
The phone features a unibody design, with a finish identical to what we have already seen in the teaser on Google’s official blog. While the renders show the phone in black, Jon Prosser of FrontPageTech recently claimed that the smartphone will be offered in a green colour as well. The dimensions of the Pixel 5 are 144.7 x 70.4 x 8.1mm (8.5mm around the camera bump) according to OnLeaks.
Coming to the back panel, we can see the circular fingerprint scanner towards the centre, and a square camera module in the top left corner. The module houses dual cameras, an unknown sensor and an LED flash.
As for the other elements, the glossy power button and volume rocker are on the right edge, while the SIM card tray moves to a new position towards the bottom of the left spine. The bottom edge is home to dual speakers and a USB Type-C port. There’s a single noise-cancelling mic on the top and an earpiece slit above the display.
Google Pixel 5 specifications and features
According to a report by XDA Developers, the Google Pixel 5 won’t be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 865 processor, and instead will feature the mid-range Snapdragon 765 chipset, which supports 5G. There’s no word yet on the RAM and storage options, but we can expect at least 6GB RAM like its predecessor, the Pixel 4.
As per Twitter user @ImJustSayinJC , the Pixel 5 might come with an OLED display offering QHD+ screen resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The same source also revealed that the Google Pixel 5 might come powered by a 3,080mAh battery. This puts the Pixel 5’s battery above Pixel 4’s 2,800mAh cell, and below the Pixel 4 XL’s 3,700mAh unit.
Google usually launches new Pixels with the latest version of Android, and we can expect Pixel 5 to be the first smartphone to ship with Android 11 out of the box.
Google Pixel 5 pricing and availability
Apart from revealing the colour variants of the Pixel 5, tipster Jon Prosser also suggested that the Pixel 5 could launch on September 30th. Prior to that, the official Google France blog let it slip that pre-orders of the smartphone will begin from October 8th, but the date has since been removed.
As for the pricing, @ImJustSayinJC recently claimed that the Pixel 5 may come in a single XL variant and will be priced at $699 (Rs 52,200). However, given that the renders we’ve received show a more compact model, we’re not sure how accurate this information is.
