Google Pixel 5 specifications leaked: 90Hz display, Snapdragon 765G and more

Google will be holding a launch event on September 30th where it is expected to announce the the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5. The Pixel 4a 5G is a 5G-ready version of the Snapdragon 730 powered Pixel 4a that went official last month. The Pixel 5 will be succeeding the Pixel 4 from last year. However, unlike its predecessors, the Pixel 5 will be a premium mid-ranger instead of a flagship. Ahead of the official announcement, Winfuture.de has leaked the entire specifications of the Google Pixel 5.

The Pixel 5 is the first phone from the brand that is expected to arrive with a high refresh rate display. It an upgraded camera setup on the rear and will run Android 11 out of the box.

As per the report, the Google Pixel 5 has a 6-inch flexible OLED display with 1,080 x 2,340 pixels full HD+ resolution. It features a 90Hz refresh rate, 432ppi pixel density, 24-bit colour depth, HDR, and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The punch-hole screen is shielded by Gorilla Glass 6. The slim bezels around the display suggest that the Pixel 5 offers a high screen-to-body ratio.

The Snapdragon 765G chipset along with 8GB of RAM powers the Pixel 5. The handset is equipped with an internal storage of 128GB. The device runs Android 11 out of the box. For security, it features a Titan M security chip and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Pixel 5 features an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. The selfie snapper supports an 83-degree field of view and 30fps 1080p video recording. The square-shaped camera module on the rear houses a 12.2-megapixel Sony IMX355 main camera with dual-pixel PDAF, f/1.7 aperture and OIS. The main lens is coupled with a 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with a 107-degree field of view. The rear cameras support up to 60fps 4K video recording. The Pixel 5 also features a spectral and flicker sensor.

The Pixel 5 is fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The smartphone also supports wireless charging and reverse charging. The device is equipped with other features such as a nano-SIM slot, eSIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C, three microphones, dual stereo speakers. It lacks a 3.5mm audio jack. Lastly, the Pixel 5 is an IP68 rated device that features an aluminium frame and a glass rear panel.

Google Pixel 5 pricing and availability (expected)

The Google Pixel 5 is expected to arrive in Germany with a starting price €629 (~Rs 54,000). It will be available in black and green colour variants.
