- Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro specifications have leaked
- They will be powered by Google’s custom chip
- The Pixel 6 series is expected to launch in October
The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro’s full specifications have leaked well ahead of its rumoured launch in October. These phones will be replacing last year’s Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL smartphones that debuted in October last year. While the predecessors were fuelled by the Snapdragon 765G chip, it is speculated that the Pixel 6 duo will deliver flagship-grade performance through a custom-made chip.
Back in May, Front Page Tech’s Jon Prosser had shared the CAD renders of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. The renders had revealed that both phones will be sporting a unique dual-tone design with a horizontal bridge for the cameras. The same source has now revealed the entire specs of the Pixel 6 lineup.
Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro specifications and features (expected)
As per the new leak, the Pixel 6 (codenamed Oriel) will be equipped with a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel, whereas the Pixel 6 Pro (codenamed Raven) will be a larger device featuring a 6.78-inch P-OLED screen. The CAD renders had revealed both phones will be sporting a center-aligned punch-hole display that will come equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
The Pixel 6 will feature an 8-megapixel selfie camera and its rear camera system will be fitted with a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. On the other side, the Pixel 6 Pro will come with a 12-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (wide) + 48-megapixel (telephoto) + 12-megapixel (ultra-wide) triple camera unit.
The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will be powered by a custom chip. The former will offer 8GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of storage, whereas the latter will come with 12GB of RAM, and 128GB / 256GB / 512GB of storage. The Pixel 6 has a 4,614mAh battery, while the Pixel 6 Pro gets a bigger 5,000mAh unit. There is no information available on the fast-charging capabilities of the Pixel 6 duo.
These phones will run on the upcoming Android 12. The leak claims that Google may offer at least 5 years of software updates for both smartphones. Rumours surrounding the Pixel 6 series launch have claimed that the company will also announce the Pixel Watch smartwatch.
