Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be launching at 10 am ET on October 6th, 2022. It will be a global launch that will also see the arrival of the Pixel Watch, which will be Google’s first smartwatch. The Pixel 7 series will replace the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which debuted in October 2021.

The Pixel 6 series wasn’t made available in India. Hence, it is unclear whether the Pixel 7 duo will be landing in the country. The Pixel 7 series will come preinstalled with the latest Android 13 OS. It will be powered by the next-generation Tensor G2, which is Google’s in-house chipset. Here is a quick brief on what to expect from the Pixel 7 lineup.

The Pixel 7 is rumoured to house a 6.3-inch OLED flat display that offers a Full HD+ resolution. It will feature the 11.1-megapixel camera, which was made available on the Pixel 6 Pro. The aluminium camera bar on its back will have a dual-camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens.

The Pixel 7 Pro will come with a 6.7-inch or 6.8-inch OLED display with a punch-hole and curved edge design. It will offer a Quad HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Pro model will also have the same front-facing camera. The camera on the Pixel 7 series is rumoured to support 4K selfie video recording. The rear camera setup of the Pixel 7 Pro will include a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 48-megapixel telephoto snapper.

The Pixel 7 series will be powered by the Tensor G2 and up to 12GB of RAM. Some of the other features that the Pixel 7 series is expected to offer include Bluetooth LE Audio (LC3 codec) support, mmWave 5G support, ultra-wideband (UWB), and long battery life. The official images of the Pixel 7 lineup show that it will not be sporting a dual-tone design like the Pixel 6 series. The vanilla model will come in shades like Obsidian, Lemongrass, and Snow. The Pro variant, on the other hand, will be sold in colours like Obsidian, Hazel, and Snow.

The Pixel 7 series pre-orders are expected to begin on October 6th, 2022. It is speculated to be available for purchase in the global markets on October 13th, 2022.

Google Pixel Watch specifications (rumoured)

The rumour mill has been leaking details about the Pixel Watch in bits and pieces. The smartwatch is expected to feature a round-shaped OLED panel and may feature the Exynos 9110 chipset. It is expected to come with 1.5GB or 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device will run on WearOS and is likely to last the entire day on a single charge. The LTE edition of the Google Pixel Watch is likely to cost $399 (~Rs 31,900) in the US.
