Google Pixel 8 Pro CAD renders have been released by SmartPrix in partnership with reliable tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka OnLeaks). The leak gives a good look at the Pixel 8 Pro from all angles. The new images show the device will offer some design improvements over the Pixel 7 Pro, which went official in October 2022.
The search engine giant is expected to announce the Pixel 7a mid-range phone and the Pixel Fold foldable phone, along with some other products, at the I/O 2023 developers conference in May. Like their predecessors, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are expected to debut in October this year.

Google Pixel 8 Pro design
The new report reveals that the Google Pixel 8 Pro will be equipped with a 6.52-inch screen. The Pixel 7 Pro features a 6.7-inch curved-edge display, whereas the Pixel 8 Pro’s CAD renders show that it has a flat OLED panel. For security, it will have an under-display fingerprint scanner. An earpiece, which will double as a speaker, and a punch-hole can be seen on the top of the display.
There is a microphone available on the top edge of the Pixel 8 Pro. Its bottom edge has a microphone and a USB Type-C port placed between a pair of speakers. The left side of the phone has a SIM slot, while the right edge features a power button and a volume controller.
The back panel of the phone has a horizontal camera bar that tapers towards the edges. The “G” logo can also be seen on the back panel. The horizontal bar has an oval-shaped module that houses a main camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a periscope zoom camera. One can also see an unknown sensor and an LED unit next to the camera setup. The thickness of the Pixel 8 Pro increases to 12mm at the camera bump. Otherwise, the device measures 162.6 x 76.5 x 8.7mm.
Google Pixel 8 Pro specifications (rumoured)
The rumour mill is yet to spill any concrete information on the specifications of the Pixel 8 Pro. It is expected that the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro will come equipped with the next-generation Google Tensor chipset, which is likely to be called the Tensor G3. The Pixel 8 Pro’s screen is expected to support a resolution of 2,822 x 1,344 pixels, which is slightly lower than the 1440p display resolution available on the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro.
There is a possibility that the Pixel 8 Pro may retain the 5,000mAh battery that was made available on the predecessor model. It may feature a 50-megapixel Sony ISOCELL GN2 sensor with staggered HDR technology, which promises superior HDR shots with rich colours and more details. The main snapper will be accompanied by an ultra-wide lens and a periscope zoom camera. It is very likely that the device will come preloaded with the all-new Android 14 OS.
