Google Pixel smartphones are already on pre-order in India starting from 13th October. Flipkart is also offering up to Rs 27,000 off on exchange and promising to deliver the devices by 25th October.
The search giant, Google had already started importing the device in India as it was recently spotted on the import-export website, Zauba. According to the website, Google imported around 2040 devices in India on 11th October.
Currently, the search giant is only importing the Pixel XL smartphones with two different shipments of Quite Black and Very Silver color. To recall, Pixel XL sports a 5.5-inch QHD display and is powered by Snapdragon 821 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. It features a 12.3-megapixel primary camera at the back and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies. Also, the Pixel camera is claimed as the best smartphone camera ever made with a DxOMark rating of 89.
Also, it is quite strange to notice a difference in the import prices of silver Pixel XL and black Pixel XL on the listing Zauba. The silver colored device is priced at Rs 38,269 whereas the black colored device is priced at Rs 44,951.
One more thing which we noticed in the shipment is that the company is currently importing the 32GB variant only. And, the smaller 5-inch Pixel is nowhere to be seen.
Looking at these, it seems like Google is emphasizing more on the 5.5-inch screen size smartphone market. Maybe, it is trying to grab the seat which was recently vacated by Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Since 25th October is the delivery date, we can also expect Pixel to be imported in India soon.
Talking about the price, the Pixel with 32GB storage variant is priced at Rs 57,000 and the 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 66,000. Whereas the Pixel XL with 32GB storage variant is priced at Rs 67,000 and the 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 76,000.
