Goqii, the Indian fitness wearable manufacturer at an event in Mumbai launched its new fitness band. The company also introduced an update to its entire ecosystem. Talking about the new band first, the device now comes an improved OLED display and a USB port built in.
The earlier device needed the user to carry a proprietary charger which used pogo pins to charge it. The new one has an integrated charger and uses a standard USB port making it more user-friendly than before. Goqii has also increased the battery capacity on the new band promising a battery life of two weeks. There are other features that make way to this band including notifications for Email, WhatsApp, Call and SMS. The band has an embedded NFC chip that can be used to make payments at NFC-enabled POS (Point of Sale) terminals. The company has tied up with Axis bank and this payment method and existing bank customers can avail the offer directly.
Goqii has now tied up with Thyrocare as their diagnostics partner and Max Healthcare as their hospital and medical partner. With this partnership, the Goqii app can now act as a hub for the user’s medical needs. Reports of tests done at Thyrocare will show up directly in the app. Users requiring future consultation will be referred to Max Hospital. The app can also be used to book diagnostic appointments at Thyrocare. The Goqii app also brings Health Locker, where the user’s medical history will be stored.
Existing users of the Goqii Fitness can access all the newly launched features on the platform and benefit from the new partnership. The services will now start at Rs 1999 for a 3-month subscription and go up to Rs. 3999 for a 12-month plan. We have got our hands on the new Goqii Band and will be posting a review with our findings soon.
