Honor 20S with 48MP triple cameras and Kirin 980 SoC goes official; price and specifications

Honor has officially announced the Honor 20S smartphone in China today. In terms of specs, the Honor 20S is identical to the Honor 20 flagship phone that was made official in China in May 2019. However, the only major difference is that it comes with a triple camera system instead of the quad camera setup found on the Honor 20. The other exciting features of the Honor 20S are a punch-hole display that offers a high screen space and an impressive selfie camera.

The glass-bodied Honor 20S has 154.25 x 73.97 x 7.87mm and it weighs 172 grams. The smartphone has a 6.26-inch punch-hole IPS LCD display that produces Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is a TUV Rheinland-certified screen that filters harmful blue rays coming out of the display. The screen of the Honor 20S supports DCI-P3 colour gamut and offers 412ppi pixel density.

The 7nm Kirin 810 chipset fuels the Honor 20S smartphone. The handset comes with up to 8GB of RAM. For storage, the Honor 20S offers 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone lacks support for a microSD card slot. The Magic 2.1 UI skinned Android 9 Pie OS runs on the device. For optimized gaming performance, the smartphone is equipped with GPU Turbo 3.0.

The Honor 20S has a triple camera setup that comprises of a 48-megapixel main lens with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The f/2.0 aperture 32-megapixel selfie shooter is housed inside the front notch. The Honor 20S is powered by a 3,750mAh battery that features support for 20W SuperCharge technology.

The smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint reader and face unlock for security. Other features of the phone include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and USB-C.

Honor 20S Price and Availability

The Honor 20S has been introduced in two variants – 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. These models carry respective price tags of 1,899 Yuan (~Rs. 19,100) and 2,199 Yuan (~Rs. 22,100). Honor is offering the new phone in Feather Black, Feather White and Feather Blue colourways. The first sale of the phone will take place today at 9 pm in China through Vmall and other leading e-commerce sites in China.
