Honor 7C with Bezel-less Display and Snapdragon 450 Announced

Chinese brand Honor has launched another mid-range offering dubbed as the Honor 7C in China today. The phone appears to be premium and comes with a dual-rear camera setup on the back and a more modern looking bezel-less display on the front.

The display is the major attraction of the phone and features a 5.99-inch HD+ panel having a resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels. This makes the display suitable for viewing content with good colour reproduction. Also, since it is an HD display, it is less intensive on the battery front, allowing you to expect a bit more out of its inbuilt battery pack. It is also layered with 2.5D curved glass which adds to its user experience.

Underneath its hood, the smartphone is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 450 processor made by Qualcomm. This is mated to the Adreno 506 GPU and either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. This ensures that the phone is capable of tackling through moderate gaming and everyday multitasking. On the storage side of things, the phone will ship with 32GB of internal memory with the lower RAM variant and 64GB of storage with the other.

In the optics department, the smartphone rocks a dual-rear camera setup on the back. This is also the phones’ second highlight. It comprises of a 13MP sensor paired with another 2MP sensor. This, in collaboration with some software enhancements, should allow the phone to click good images. You may, however, want to keep your expectations more rational in low-light conditions as the camera may not be able to deliver as good images as the Honor 7. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera to allow for video calling and capturing decent selfies. Both camera modules are accompanied by selfie flash.

The Honor 7C is equipped to support most conventional connectivity options including 2G, 3G, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. For the audiophiles, it also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, unlike some other manufacturers who have decided to go Apple’s way and eliminate the audio port. The phone draws power from a 3,000mAh battery which runs the show.

Honor has launched the phone in China in four colour variations: Black, Gold, Red and Blue. The 3GB RAM variant of the Honor 7C will cost you by RMB 899 (approx. Rs 9,200) while the 4GB one will cost RMB 1,299 (approx. Rs 13,300). With most Chinese manufacturers looking to compete in the budget smartphone market in India, it is very likely that this offering will make its way through as well.
