The Honor 7X was launched in India in November 2017 by Huawei’s sub-brand Honor. The device competed in the crowded mid-segment smartphone market with the likes of Mi A1 and Motorola G5S Plus. Honor has just announced that its popular bezel-less device will get a permanent price cut.
Honor’s official Twitter account has stated that the 3GB + 32GB model will be priced at Rs 11,999 and the 4GB + 64GB will bear the price tag of Rs 14,999. To recall, the former variant was priced at 12,999 and the higher variant at Rs 15,999. The smartphone will still be Amazon exclusive along with EMI and exchange offers.

Along with the price cut, the Honor 7X will also ship with Android 8.0 Oreo OS out of the box with Huawei’s EMUI 8.0 layered on the top. The new software comes with various new features. The update includes face unlock feature which is seen in many devices these days for securely unlocking the phone by scanning your face. The Gaming Mode aids in smooth performance and uninterrupted gaming sessions. It will hide all the on-screen notifications except calls, alarm, and low battery. There is a Power saving mode that optimizes the battery life. If you are riding a bike, there is a Ride Mode that notifies the caller that the user is currently riding and cannot attend calls. With the update, users can directly access the Paytm app using the rear fingerprint sensor for instant payments. The AR lens will allow the user to add effects to images before clicking them.
As for the technical specifications, the Honor 7X sports a 5.9-inch FHD+ bezel-less display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass on the top. The device looks premium with its metal unibody design. Under the hood, the device houses a 2.36GHz HiSilicon Kirin octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM and a Mali-T830 MP2 graphics processor onboard. The performance is smooth in most cases. The Honor 7X has a dual rear camera setup of 16MP primary + 2MP secondary sensor. There is a 8MP selfie camera fitted on the front. The Honor 7X is a dual SIM phone powered by a 3340 mAh non-removable battery and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo OS out of the box.
With the price being slashed, the Honor 7X now provides an intense competition to Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus’s Zenfone Max Pro M1 in under 15k price range.
