Huawei’s sub-brand Honor will officially unveil the Honor 8 Lite in India on May 10. The mid-range phone was first announced in February this year in Europe. The Honor 8 Lite is the younger sibling of last year’s Honor 8, which is selling in India at around Rs 25,000.
One of the visible differences between the Honor 8 and Honor 8 Lite is attributed to the camera. While the selling point of the Honor 8 was a 12-megapixel dual rear camera, the Honor 8 Lite houses a single 12-megapixel rear camera.
The Honor 8 Lite is powered by somewhat less powerful HiSilicon Kirin 655 chip, similar to Honor 6X. The Honor 8, on the other hand, equips HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor. Interestingly, the Honor 8 Lite packs Android Nougat operating system with the company’s Emotion UI 5.0 running on top.
Specs-wise, the Honor 8 Lite sports a 5.2-inch 1080p display. Inside are an octa-core 16nm CPU combined with Mali-T830 GPU for graphics. It embraces 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage, which is expandable up to 128GB. The dual-SIM Honor 8 Lite hides two nano SIM slots under the hood.
The Honor 8 Lite features an 8-megapixel secondary for selfies. Below the rear camera is a fingerprint scanner. Design-wise, it weighs 147g and measures 147.2 x 72.94 x 7.6 mm. It packs a 3000mAh battery in addition to connectivity options like 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS.
