Honor 8C, the first phone to be powered by the Snapdragon 632 chipset, was announced last month in China. The device is now listed on Amazon India on a dedicated page, which reveals that the smartphone will go official on November 29th as an Amazon exclusive. The handset will be arriving to replace the Honor 7C that was announced in March.
The Honor 8C features a 7.98mm slim body that houses a 6.2-inch Full View notched display. It offers an aspect ratio of 19:9 and features an Eye Comfort Mode to reduce eye strain.
Honor says the 8C’s AI enabled dual cameras can recognise more than 500 scenarios from 22 categories. The setup consists of a 13-megapixel f/1.8 main sensor and a 2-megapixel f/2.4 depth sensor. For shooting selfies, it is equipped with an 8-megapixel front camera with a softlight LED flash.
The Snapdragon 632 mobile platform that powers the Honor 8C is the successor to the Snapdragon 625 and Snapdragon 626 processors that powered many mid-range phones in recent years. It is an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz that promises 40 percent better performance than its predecessors.
The smartphone runs EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo OS. It features a dedicated microSD card slot for expanding storage. The Honor 8C is packed with a 4,000mAh battery can last for two days. For security, the handset has a fingerprint reader placed on its rear shell.
In China, the Honor 8C comes in two versions – 4GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The models are priced at 1,099 Yuan (~Rs. 11,000) and 1,399 Yuan (~Rs. 14,200) respectively. It is available in colours like Black, Gold, Blue and Purple. The Honor 8C is expected to be priced around Rs 15,000 in India for the 64GB edition.
