Chinese brand Honor has launched its latest smartphone, the Honor 8C in China. The 8C is a mid-range phone and is the successor to the Honor 7C launched in March 2018. Let’s check the technical specifications below:
The Honor 8C features a 6.26-inch HD+ bezel-less display bearing a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels along with a 19:9 aspect ratio screen. Design-wise, there is a notch on the top of the display. The back of the phone houses a circular fingerprint sensor. The Honor 8C ships in four color variants i.e. Neula Purple, Midnight Black, Aurora Blue, & Gold.
In the camera department, the Honor 8C sports a dual rear camera setup. It comprises of a 13MP primary sensor accompanied by a 2MP secondary sensor. The rear camera module is assisted by LED flash. On the front, there is a 8MP snapper for video-calling and selfies. The camera offers AI enhancements for taking better pictures. The front camera also doubles up as a face recognition feature for security purposes.
Under the hood, the Honor 8C houses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 632 SoC making it the first smartphone to be powered by the processor. The chipset was launched late in June this year. The processor is paired with 4GB RAM and Adreno 506 GPU onboard. The device comes in 32GB and 64GB storage options. It features a dedicated microSD card for storage expansion up to 256GB.
The Honor 8C functions on a 4,000 mAh battery unit. The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo OS layered with EMUI 8.2 on the top. Connectivity-wise, the Honor 8C offers all the basic options like 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
Pricing & Availability:
Honor has priced the 32GB variant of the Honor 8C for RMB 1,099 (~ Rs 11,764) in China. The 64GB variant will cost you RMB 1,399 (~ Rs 14,976). Pre-orders start today and the device will go on sale from October 16th in China. There is no word on pricing and availability details for the Indian market.
