Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max with Mammoth Screens and Batteries are Official with Attractive Pricings

Through an unveil event in China, Honor has introduced the Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max smartphones. The major attractions of these phones are that they are equipped with huge displays and big batteries. The homegrown Kirin 710 SoC powers the Honor 8X whereas the 8X Max comes in Snapdragon 636 and Snapdragon 660 chipset variants. Both the phones come in multiple variants that attractive price tags.

Honor 8X Specifications, Features and Pricing

The Honor 8X features 2.5D glass panels on its front and rear with a metal frame in between. The rear glass is built with 15-layer glare glass with dual textures. The device measures 160.4 x 76.6 x 7.8mm and it weighs 175 grams. The thickness of the chin of the phone is only 4.25mm. The color variants of the Honor 8X are Dream Purple, Magic Night Black, Charm Blue and Charm Red.

The handset is fitted with a 6.4-inch IPS LCD notched screen that is built with COF packaging process. It offers screen-to-body ratio of around 90 percent and produces Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It is the first phone ever to be certified by TUV Rheinland which ensures complete protection vison related issues.

Huawei’s Kirin 710 chipset coupled powers the smartphone with up to 6 GB of RAM. It has a native storage of up to 128 GB. For more storage, it is equipped with a microSD card slot. It is packed with a 3,750mAh battery that carries support for 5V/2A charging. For accelerated graphics performance, the Honor 8X features GPU Turbo technology and it also supports 4D shock for enhanced gaming experience.

The Honor 8X is preinstalled with EMUI 8.2 flavored Android 8.1 Oreo. It features f/1.8 aperture 20-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup on its rear. At the front is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. Some of the photography features available on the Honor 8X are PDAF, AI beauty mode, AI scene detection, portrait mode, HDR and slow-motion video shooting. The other features of the phone include rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, microUSB 2.0 and 3.5mm audio jack.

Honor 8X

The Honor 8X pre-sales will run between 6th September and 10th September in China. The base model of the 8X that includes 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM is priced at 1,399 Yuan (~Rs. 14,600). The second variant of the phone feature 64 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM and it is priced at 1,599 Yuan (~Rs. 16,700). The highest configuration model with 128 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM costs 1,899 Yuan (~Rs. 19,900). The handset will be available for buying in the home country from 11th September.

Honor 8X Max Specifications, Features and Pricing

The Honor 8X Max that measures 177.57 x 86.24 x 8.13mm and weighs 210 grams is equipped with the same kind of build like the 8X phone. Charm Red, Magic Night Black and Charm Blue are the color variants of the smartphone. The 8X Max has arrived with a massive IPS LCD screen of 7.12 inches that features a waterdrop notch. It offers Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2244 pixels along with a screen-to-body ratio of 90.5 percent.

The Snapdragon 636 SoC powers the Honor 8X Max. It is equipped with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. There is a microSD card slot for expanding its storage. The EMUI 8.2 based Android 8.1 Oreo is available on the smartphone. The 8X Max has a huge battery of 5,000mAh capacity that carries support for 9V/2A rapid charging.

The f/2.0 aperture 16-megapixel + f/2.4 aperture 2-megapixel dual camera resides on the back panel of the 8X Max. It has a selfie camera of 8-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone offers the same photography features that are available on the Honor 8X. Also, it has the same connectivity options as its smaller sibling. Other features of the Honor 8X Max are rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and Dolby Atmos audio technology.

Honor 8X Max color variants

The Honor 8X Max with 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage + 4 GB RAM are powered by Snapdragon 636. They are respectively priced at 1,499 Yuan (~Rs. 15,700) and 1,799 Yuan (~Rs. 18,700). The Snapdragon 660 edition of the 8X Max has 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM. Its price is yet to be confirmed. The Honor 8X Max is already available for pre-orders in China.

There is no confirmation on whether the Honor 8X and 8X Max will be coming to India. The 8X Max seems to be a good rival for the Mi Max 3 that is currently available only in China. Xiaomi is expected to debut the Mi Max 3 in India in the next few months. Probably, Honor may also debut the Honor 8X series in India around the same time.
