Honor, the sub-brand of Huawei has launched a fitness tracker dubbed as the Honor A2. This offering by the brand is an updated version of the Honor Band A1. This fitness device is targeted for people looking to achieve fitness and not end up spending a fortune. The new fitness tracker will set you back Rs. 2,499.
Speaking about the build quality of the fitness tracker, Honor has offered a very aesthetic design with this product. The Honor Band A2 now features a 0.96-inch multi-touch OLED display panel. This, according to the brand is the biggest display in its category. On the back, the fitness tracker also integrates a heart rate sensor, similar to what is offered on the Mi Band 2 by Xiaomi. The tracker also comes bundled with a strap on charging unit that attaches magnetically to the tracking unit. This can be connected to a charging cable with a micro USB port.
Coming to the features offered by the fitness band. The Honor A2 band is capable of detecting when a user is running, cycling or walking and can record data for each activity separately. In addition to activity tracking, similar to other fitness trackers on the market, this offering from Honor is also capable of sleep tracking. The device can also differentiate between deep sleep, light sleep and being awake. On top of this, the software is capable of diagnosing any abnormalities in sleep cycles and can alert the user about the same.
In terms of compatibility, the Honor Band A2 can be connected to both Android and iOS devices through the official application. The fitness tracker makes use of low power Bluetooth 4.2 to transfer data to the connected mobile device. The fitness band is packed with a 95mAh battery that the company claims can last up to 9 days with use and 18 days on standby. Among some of the other features that come with this band is its capability to display notifications from your smartphone including calls and messages. Similar to the Mi Bands, the Honor Band A2 also has the raise to wake screen feature.
In addition to all of the above features, the Honor Band A2 is also waterproof and IP67 certified. This means that you could take the band in the shower or use it in the rain without damaging it. This makes this offering a well-rounded smartband that is arriving just in time for people looking to keep track of their new year resolutions to get fit. The Honor Band A2 will be available exclusively on Amazon India starting from 8 January 2018.
