Honor Magic 4 series with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor launched at MWC 2022: price, specifications

Honor Magic 4 series has been launched globally today. The Chinese brand announced the smartphone at the ongoing MWC 2022 in Barcelona, Spain. The Honor Magic 4 series includes a regular and a Pro variant.

The Honor Magic 4 series arrives as the successor to last year’s Honor Magic 3 series. The latest offering comes with upgrades over its predecessor. The smartphones are powered by Qualcomm’s flagship chipset. Read on to know what the devices offer out of the box.

The Honor Magic 4 and 4 Pro are almost identical to each other

The Honor Magic 4 and Magic 4 Pro come with a 6.81-inch curved OLED display bearing an FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colour and 1,000 nits peak brightness. Both devices are equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The regular model has a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout whereas the Pro variant comes with a pill-shaped cutout. 

The Honor Magic 4 series is IP68 certified dust and water-resistant. The back panel sports a circular camera module. Both devices come with IMAX Enhanced with DTS-X support. 

On the imaging front, the Honor Magic 4 duo feature triple rear cameras. The setup on both devices comprise a 50MP main sensor paired with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The regular variant has an 8MP telephoto unit with up to 50x zoom whereas the Pro model comes with a 64MP telephoto shooter with support for 100x periscope zoom. Up front, both smartphones are fitted with a 12MP selfie camera. The Pro model also comes with a 3D depth sensor for 3D face recognition. 

Internally, the Honor Magic 4 series is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Both phones pack up to 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The regular variant is backed by a 4,800mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging whereas the Pro model is fuelled by a 4,600mAh cell with 100W fast wired as well as 100W wireless charging. 

The Honor Magic 4 series run on Magic UI 6.0 based on Android 12 out of the box. The Pro variant also comes with ‘Privacy Calling’ feature that aims at preventing sound from leaking during voice calls. Connectivity-wise, the smartphones comes with a USB-C port, 5G, 4G LTE, Wifi, Bluetooth 5.1 and GPS.

The Honor Magic 4 series comes in Cyan, Gold, Black, White and Orange colours. The regular variant starts at €899 (~Rs 75,939) while the Pro model starts at €1,099 (~Rs 92,071). The availability of both smartphones will vary from region to region.
