At a press event on Thursday, Huawei Honor announced world’s first AI-enabled (Artificial intelligence enabled) smartphone dubbed as Honor Magic. As the name suggest, it is capable of waving a wand and perform some magic with the help of AI (Artificial Intelligence).
The company claims the device to be equipped with AI assist to anticipate your need and perform the action automatically. With the help of iris scanner, the Honor Magic can detect whether the user is the owner or not and can hide the sensitive notifications from the lock screen. The company is calling this feature FaceCode which shows notifications with complete information only when the owner is holding the device.
The calendar and other apps also synchronize with GPS to show you the information you may need at exact time and location. Such as popping up your boarding pass while you’re at the airport or showing hotel booking information when you’re checking in.
Huawei has also rebranded the Google Now as Deepthink which let the users get the information based on the content on screen by long pressing the home button. One more feature the company added in this phone is Wisescreen which pops up the option to turn on the flashlight when the surrounding is dark.
Talking about the specs, the Honor Magic sports a 5.09-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 950 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage.
The Honor Magic houses a dual rear camera setup featuring two 12MP sensors. On front, it flaunts an 8MP snapper for selfies. It packs in a 2,900mAh battery coupled with Huawei Magic Power fast charging technology which is capable of charging the device from 0% to 70% just within 20 minutes.
The device runs on Magic UI built on the top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It also features a fingerprint scanner integrated into the physical home button. The phone also comes with the built-in TEE chip which encrypts the complete user information and doesn’t even let the OS access the sensitive data. The company has announced it for the Chinese market only and let’s hope it comes to India too.
