Honor Play 4T and Play 4T Pro with 128GB storage and 4,000mAh batteries announced

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor unveiled the Honor 30S 5G smartphone at the end of the previous month. In the coming week, the Chinese firm will be holding a launch event on April 15th to announce Honor 30 5G and Honor 30 Pro 5G phones. Today, the company has announced the budget-friendly Honor Play 4T and Play 4T Pro. The Play 4T duo are equipped with tall aspect ratio displays, large-sized batteries and ample internal storage. Like the Honor 30S and the upcoming Honor 30 lineup, the Play 4T also features a rectangular camera housing on the rear for the 48-megapixel camera system.

The Honor Play 4T and Play 4T Pro are equipped with polycarbonate bodies with a gradient colour finish. The Honor Play 4T Pro has a 6.3-inch OLED screen with a waterdrop notch. It sports full HD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio and is equipped with an in-display fingerprint reader. On the other hand, the more affordable Honor Play 4T has a slightly larger 6.39-inch IPS LCD panel with a punch-hole design. It features HD+ resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio. It has a conventional rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Honor Play 4T Pro is powered by the Kirin 810 chipset and 4GB and 6GB of RAM. The phone offers a native storage of 128GB. The older Kirin 710A is present at the helm of the Play 4T with 6GB of RAM. It also features 128GB of built-in storage. A microSD card slot is available for expanding the storage on Play 4T and Play 4T Pro.

The Honor Play 4T Pro has a triple camera setup on its back. It consists of 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Play 4T Pro has a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The dual camera setup placed on the rear of the Play 4T has a 48-megapixel primary shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Up front, the Play 4T has an 8-megapixel camera.

Both phones have 4,000mAh batteries. The Pro model has support for 22.5W rapid charging, while the vanilla model only offers standard 10W charging. The phones run Android 10 flavoured with Magic UI 3.0. As expected, these devices lack support for Google Mobile Services.

Honor Play 4T and Play 4T Pro pricing and availability

The Honor Play 4T is priced at RMB 1,199 (~Rs. 13,000) and can be bought in colours like Magic Night Black, Blue Water Jade (Green) and Icelandic Fantasy (Green). Its first sale is scheduled to start on April 21st in China.

The Play 4T Pro’s 4GB RAM + 128GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variants are priced at RMB 1,499 (~Rs. 16,200) and RMB 1,699 (~Rs 18,400) respectively. The handset comes in same three colour options as the Play 4T phone. It will go on sale from today in the home market. There is no official confirmation on whether Honor will be releasing Play 4T series in India.
