Last year, Honor launched the Play 8A budget smartphone in China. Now, it seems that the brand is gearing up to add yet another device to its Play series. Pricebaba has obtained the first official-looking renders of the Honor Play 9A, in collaboration with the popular tipster, Ishan Agarwal. While the renders give us a complete look at the phone’s design, Agarwal has also confirmed several specifications of the upcoming smartphone. Here’s what we know about the Honor Play 9A so far.
Honor Play 9A specifications and features
As you can see in the image above, the Honor Play 9A will feature a glossy gradient rear panel, waterdrop notch display, rectangular dual camera module and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The volume rockers and power button are seen on the right edge. Upon closer inspection, you can spot the cutout for the 3.5mm audio jack and charging port at the bottom.
As for the specifications, Agarwal has confirmed that the Honor Play 9A will a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution. It will measure 59.07mm × 74.06mm × 9.04mm and weigh 185g. Powering the smartphone will be the MediaTek Helio P35 processor, backed by 4GB RAM. It will come in two storage variants of 64GB and 128GB. In the imaging department, the phone offers a 13MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF, accompanied by a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. The waterdrop notch on the front houses an 8MP f/2.0 snapper. Lastly, the Honor Play 9A will be powered by a massive 5,000mAh battery, but will only offer standard 10W charging. The phone will boot Magic UI 3.0 based on the latest Android 10. However, we do not expect support for Google apps and services, owing to the ongoing Huawei ban in the US.
Currently, there is no word on the pricing and availability of the smartphone. We should know more in the coming days.
