Smartphone manufacturer Honor has launched a new tablet in its home country. The device is dubbed as the Honor Tab 5 and is available in both Wi-Fi and LTE versions. Let’s take a look at the technical specifications below:
The Honor Tab 5 comes with an 8-inch display bearing a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. It features a basic design with thick bezels on the top and bottom. The device is equipped with dual stereo speakers, one at the top and another at the bottom.
Under the hood, the Honor Tab 5 is equipped with a Hisilicon Kirin 710 chipset along with a Mali G51 MP4 GPU. The device is available in two configurations – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. For additional storage needs, there is a microSD card slot. The Tab 5 features GPU Turbo 2.0 to boost graphics performance during gaming. The Honor Tab 5 sports 8MP cameras on the front and rear. Both the cameras support full HD video recording. The front camera also offers a face unlock feature for unlocking the device in place of a missing fingerprint scanner.
The Honor Tab 5 is backed by a 5,100mAh battery unit. It runs the Android 9 Pie with Magic UI. Connectivity-wise, the Honor Tab 5 comes with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, micro-USB and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Pricing & Availability:
The 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB variants of the Honor Tab 5 (Wi-Fi only) is priced at 1,099 Yuan (Rs 11,600) and 1,299 Yuan (Rs 13,700) respectively. On the other hand, the WiFi+ LTE variants are priced at 1,399 Yuan (Rs 14,750) and 1,499 Yuan (Rs 15,800) for the base and top model respectively. The Honor Tab 5 will go on sale in China starting from March 12th with pre-orders starting today in China. There is no word when the device will be launched in other markets.
