Honor smartphones will soon launch in India, confirmed former Realme CEO Madhav Sheth in a post on X.com (formerly known as Twitter). Speculations suggest that Sheth will be heading the Indian Division of Honor. Additionally, there have been reports that several former Realme employees have joined the Honor team.
Honor emerged as a sub-brand under Huawei in 2013. It entered India in 2014 and soon gained popularity by launching affordable smartphones. However, it exited the Indian smartphone market in 2020 due to the US sanctions levied on Huawei. After being sold to a consortium of Chinese companies, it stayed active in China and globally, while in India, it continued to launch fitness trackers and tablets sporadically. Honor is now set to make its comeback in India, reportedly unveiling a new phone in August or September.
