At an event in China today, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has introduced its latest V series smartphones called the Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro. The Chinese tech giant’s latest devices have arrived as flagship offerings. The new Honor V30 and V30 Pro are the company’s first smartphones with support for the next-gen high-speed 5G networks. The Honor V30 Pro has a Kirin 990 5G processor that flaunts integrated 5G connectivity, while the Honor V30 features the standard Kirin 990 chipset with the separate Barong 5000 5G modem.
Honor V30 specifications and features
Talking about the Honor V30 first, it features a 6.57-inch TFT LCD IPS display bearing a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, and boots Android 10 out of the box with Magic UI 3.0.1 on top. The Kirin 990 chipset onboard the smartphone offers a maximum clock speed of 2.86GHz. The device comes in two RAM and storage configurations – 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB. Design-wise, the handset has a pill-shaped hole in the screen, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a square-shaped camera module on the back.
At the rear, the Honor V30 has a 40MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture. The main lens has been accompanied by an 8MP fixed focus camera and an 8MP OIS shooter. The rear cameras have 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, and 30x digital zooming capabilities. On the front, the smartphone has a 32MP main camera, which is aided by an 8MP shooter. The rear cameras support up to 4K video recording, while the selfie cameras offer up to 1080p recording. Apart from 5G, the other connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C port, and A-GPS with GLONASS. A 4,200mAh battery with 40W fast charging support completes the list of the specs.
Honor V30 Pro specifications and features
As for the Honor V30 Pro, the phone also has a 6.57-inch FHD+ display and boots Android 10 out of the box. The Kirin 990 5G chipset onboard the handset is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The smartphone has the same design as the Honor V30. At the rear, the device has a 40MP f/1.6 AF main camera with OIS, which is aided by a 12MP f/2.2 AF shooter and an 8MP f/2.4 AF camera with OIS. The front camera configuration of the handset is the same as the V30. This one is fuelled by a smaller 4,100mAh battery with 40W fast charging support.
Honor V30 and V30 Pro price
The Honor V30’s 6GB RAM variant has been priced at RMB 3,299 (~Rs 33,500), while the 8GB RAM model is being offered for RMB 3,699 (~Rs 37,600). The Honor V30 Pro’s 128GB storage variant costs RMB 3,899 (~Rs 39,600), while the 256GB model is priced at RMB 4,199 (~Rs 42,700). The Honor V30 and V30 Pro will go on sale in China on December 5th and December 12th respectively.
