HP has a superb lineup of gaming laptops under its Omen branding. Last year, it surprised gamers by launching a cube shaped Omen X desktop with cutting edge specifications. Now, the manufacturer has launched the first Omen X branded gaming laptop. Although the laptop will be available for purchase starting November, HP has revealed all the essential details about the machine.
The HP Omen X laptop is powered by an unlocked Intel Core i7 processor which will allow overclocking. It further packs in XMP memory options and tested profiles up to DDR4-2800. To enable a superior graphic performance, the laptop comes with a factory overclocked graphic cards up to Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080. The top-end variant will have a display resolution of 4K but other options might offer smaller resolutions as well. The display will render graphics with a frequency of 120Hz.
HP also claims that the laptop will be an aid to online gamers as it comes with a network booster which helps in reducing latency. The Omen X also includes Omen Command Center Software which can custom tune and push hardware to its limits so as to manage CPU and RAM overclocking. Multiple storage variants will be provided for the laptop. The top-end variant will come with “RAID0 SSD” which promises ultra-fast boot and faster game loading times. Other options include a PCIe SSD + HDD storage and a standalone 1TB 7200 rpm HDD variant.
The keyboard, as expected is a mechanical one which boasts of RGB backlights and 2.5mm travel. The keys further provide a tactile feedback and mechanical switches to provide quick feedback and a seamless experience.
For connectivity, HP Omen X includes three USB 3.0 Type-A ports, two Thunderbolt 3-certified USB 3.1 Type-C ports, an HDMI 2.0a port, RJ45, Mini DisplayPort and a media card reader.
Currently, the pricing for HP Omen X laptop is set at $2,299 which roughly translates to around 1.47 lakhs. However, its India pricing will be revealed possibly in the upcoming months.
