In September 2016, HTC had launched the Desire 10 LIfestyle and Desire10 Pro mid-range smartphones. However, it did not launch Desire 11 series phones in 2017. Last month, well-known tipster Evan Blass had revealed that an upcoming entry-level phone from the company is codenamed as Breeze and it will be arriving in the market as Desire 12. An image of the retail box of the Desire 12 had also revealed its key specs in the previous month. Today, Android Headlines has claimed that the Taiwanese manufacturer will be also selling Desire 12 Plus alongside the Desire 12.
Citing unnamed source, the publication states Desire 12 Plus could be codenamed as Breeze Plus. The handset is expected to house a 5.99-inch TFT screen that will offer an aspect ratio of 18:9 along with HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. It will be offering a pixel count of 268ppi. The mid-range Snapdragon 450 chipset that powers the likes of Nokia 4, Vivo V7+ and China’s Redmi 5 will be powering the Desire 12 Plus. The SoC includes an octa-core processor that delivers a clocking speed of 1.8 GHz.
The SoC will be coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It will be coming with an inbuilt storage of 32 GB. However, users will be able to take benefit from available space of 23.5 GB. The device will be also arriving with a microSD card slot for more storage.
A 13-megapixel camera with back-illuminated sensor will be present on the rear panel of the Desire 12 Plus for snapping better images in low-light scenarios. The 8-megapixel selfie camera will be enabled with electronic image stabilization.
The handset is powered by a 2,965mAh battery unit that is enabled with 5V/1.5A charging. The SD450 carries support for Quick Charge 3.0, but there is no confirmation on whether the Taiwanese company will be making the fast charging feature available on it. The battery is expected to deliver a talk time of 26 hours and a standby time of 522 hours. It can support continuous music playback for 74 hours.
The Desire 12 Plus supports GSM frequencies such as 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 and LTE bands like 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20 and 24. There is no information available on the build quality of the phone. However, its dimensions are 158.24 x 76.54 x 8.39mm and its weight is 155.01 grams.
Previous leaks have revealed that Desire 12 will be coming with a display of 5.2 inches, lower configuration cameras and a smaller battery. The Desire 12 duo are expected to arrive pre-loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo. It is speculated that the Desire 12 series will be unveiled in this month or second quarter this year. There is no information available on the pricing of these phones as of yet.
