In June, HTC had launched the Desire 19+ smartphone. Today, it has unveiled its a toned-down variant of the sam, the Desire 19s in Taiwan. The Desire 19s comes with a front and rear design that is identical to the HTC Wildfire X that had gone official in August. Compared to the Wildfire X, it comes with a larger battery and improved front and rear cameras.
HTC Desire 19s specifications and features
The polycarbonate bodied HTC Desire 19s measures 156.2 x 74.8 x 8.47mm and it weighs 170 grams. The rear panel appears glossy at the top and portion below the fingerprint scanner has a textured design. The Desire 19s has an IPS LCD display panel of 6.2 inches. The waterdrop notch enabled screen supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,520 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. The Helio P22 chipset that includes 2.0GHz octa-core processor powers the smartphone along with 3GB of RAM. The Wildfire X also features same-sized display, Helio P22 Soc and 3GB of RAM.
The Desire 19s comes with an internal storage of 32GB. There is a hybrid SIM card slot onboard for expanding its storage. The smartphone boots Android 9 Pie that is customised with HTC Sense UI. The handset draws power from a 3,850mAh battery that comes with support for 5V/2A charging.
Placed on the backside of the phone is a triple camera system. It includes a 13-megapixel main lens with f/1.85 aperture, a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 118-degree field-of-view with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5-mgeapixel depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The rear cameras offer features like dual-LED flash, automatic HDR, portrait mode and full HD video recording. The front notch of the phone houses an AI powered 16-megapixel f/2.0 aperture lens with HDR and full HD video recording support. On the connectivity front, the device offers features like dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, USB-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
HTC Desire 19s price and availability
The HTC Desire 19s is now up for purchase in Taiwan with a price tag of TWD 5,990 (~Rs. 14,100). Free Blue and Yashi Black are the two colour editions of the smartphone. There is no word on the availability of the smartphone outside Taiwan.
