The Taiwanese handset maker, HTC has been missing in action lately. The company launched Wildfire R70 earlier this year and a new addition to the Desire series called the Desire 19s last year. The brand is now looking at making a comeback in the market and consequently, has launched two new smartphones in its home market of Taiwan.
HTC has listed the latest smartphones called the Desire 20 Pro and U20 5G on the official website in Taiwan. Both smartphones flaunt a punch-hole display, 5,000mAh battery with fast charging, and 48-megapixel quad cameras as their highlights. Here’s everything that the Desire 20 Pro and U20 5G offer in terms of specifications.
HTC Desire 20 Pro specifications and features
The HTC Desire Pro features a 6.5-inch LCD display with FHD+ screen resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a punch-hole cutout in the top left corner of the display. Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC backed by 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which can be further expanded using a microSD card. The smartphone boots Android 10 out of the box and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0.
In the camera department, the phone is equipped with a 48-megapixel quad-camera setup on the back. The primary lens is accompanied by an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, 2-megapixel depth sensor and 2-megapixel macro camera. In the front, the punch-hole cutout is housing a 25-megapixel selfie shooter.
Other features of the handset include 3.5mm audio jack, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi.
HTC U20 5G specifications and features
The HTC U20 5G is a mid-range offering from the brand featuring a 6.8-inch LCD display with FHD+ screen resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 SoC with support for 5G connectivity. The chipset is further accompanied by 8GB RAM and 256GB storage with support for microSD card. The U20 5G also features Android 10 and a 5,000mAh battery, but with 18W Quick Charge 4.0.
The selfies camera on the U20 5G has been bumped up to 32-megapixels. All other features of the smartphone including rear camera setup, connectivity options and fingerprint scanner are same as the Desire 20.
HTC Desire 20 Pro and U20 5G price and availability
While HTC has listed both these smartphones on its official website in Taiwan, the brand has not revealed the pricing and availability of the new launches. As of now, the new launches are also exclusive to Taiwan with no confirmation regarding the global availability.
