The HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G smartphone has launched in Taiwan. It replaced the Desire 20 Pro mid-ranger that went official back in June 2020. After the HTC U20 5G phone from last year, the Desire 21 Pro 5G is the second phone from the brand to arrive with support for 5G connectivity.
The Desire 21 Pro 5G is also the first HTC phone to carry support for a high refresh rate of 90Hz. It sports a punch-hole design on the front and its back is fitted with a 48-megapixel quad-camera system. It promises a long lasting battery life as it comes with a huge battery.
HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G specifications and features
The is a polycarbonate-bodied phone that features a massive 6.7-inch display that delivers a Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The 90Hz refresh rate screen supports HDR10 video playback. For capturing selfies, the handset features an AI-powered 16-megapixel front camera.
The rear-facing camera module has a 48-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with 118-degree FOV, a 2-megapixel macro lens with 4cm focal length, and a 2-megapixel camera for adding depth effects. The quad cameras offer users features like dual-LED flash, AI smart scene recognition, EIS, and 4K video recording.
The Snapdragon 690 SoC fuels the HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G with 8GB of RAM. For storage, the phone offers users an internal storage of 128GB and a microSD card slot. The phone ships with Android 10 OS. The 5,000mAh battery of the Desire 21 Pro 5G supports up to 18W rapid charging. The other features that can be found on the handset include dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB Type-C, NFC, a side-facing fingerprint sensor, and a 3.5mm headphone slot.
HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G pricing and availability
The Desire 21 Pro 5G is priced at TWD $11,990 (~Rs 31,300) and it can be bought in colours like Star Blue and Fantasy Purple. HTC is yet to confirm which other markets will be treated with the Desire 21 Pro 5G phone.
