Huawei Maimang 8 With Triple Cameras and Kirin 710 Launched in China

Huawei Maimang 8 is the latest phone from the company to go official in China. The successor of the Maimang 7 from last year features a triple camera setup on its rear and a tall aspect ratio display. It is a rebranded version of the P Smart+ 2019 smartphone that was unveiled in the global markets in March.

Huawei Maimang 8 Specifications and Features

The Maimang 8 features a 6.21-inch IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch. It offers full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The bottom bezel of the phone is slightly thick while its remaining bezels are slim. The TUV Rheinland certified display can filter harmful blue rays emitted by the screen. The smartphone offers a screen-to-body ratio of 89 percent.

The Kirin 710 chipset that powers the likes of Huawei Y9 (2019), Mate 20 Lite and Honor 20 Lite is present under the hood of the device. The SoC is coupled with 6GB of RAM. It features an internal storage of 128GB with the EROFS Huawei super file system. The smartphone is equipped with a microSD card slot for adding more storage. The handset boots Android 9 Pie that is skinned with EMUI 9. There is GPU Turbo onboard for accelerated graphics performance.

The Maimang 8 is packed with a 3,400mAh battery that carries support for 10W charging. The front notch is fitted with a selfie camera of 8-megapixels. The rear-mounted triple camera module has a main 24-megapixel snapper, an ultrawide 16-megapixel lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The photography features available on the handset include handheld super night scene, 8 kinds of smart scene recognition, 480fps slow-motion video shooting and more.

The usual connectivity features such as dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, microUSB 2.0, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack are also available on the Maimang 8. For security, the handset comes with features like a rear-facing fingerprint scanner and face unlock. The smartphone has the ability to intelligently switch between 4G and Wi-Fi depending on the strength of the network.

Huawei Maimang 8 Price and Release Date

The China-exclusive Maimang 8 has arrive with a price tag of 1,899 Yuan (~Rs. 19,000). It is now available for pre-order in the home market. It can be purchased in colour variants such as Magic Night Black and Sapphire Blue.
