Huawei unveiled the Mate 20 Pro alongside Mate 20X, and Mate 20 RS in London back in October. The China-based smartphone maker has now brought Mate 20 Pro flagship to India. Read below to know the technical specifications as well as the pricing and availability of the device:
Display & Design:
The Mate 20 Pro boasts of a 6.39-inch OLED display bearing Quad HD+ resolution of 3,120 x 1,440 pixels. There is a notch on the top that accommodates the front camera and a 3D face recognition system.
In terms of design, the Mate 20 Pro features a textured rear panel. The phone ditches the physical fingerprint scanner for an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the rear side, the triple rear camera module is arranged in square shape instead of straight line. The Mate 20 Pro is IP68-rated for dust- and water-resistance. It ships in four colour variants – Emerald Green, Midnight Blue, Black and Pink Gold. Huawei has also introduced a Twilight Gradient color option.
The Mate 20 Pro is equipped with a Leica-branded triple camera setup. The module consists of a 40MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 20MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 8MP telephoto lens. In the front, the device features a 24MP sensor for snapping selfies and face unlock.
Hardware, Battery & OS:
Under the hood, the Mate 20 Pro houses Huawei’s latest Kirin 980 processor which is the first chipset based on the 7mm architecture. It is coupled with 6GB RAM and a Mali-G76 GPU. For storing data, the device offers 128GB internal memory expandable up to 256GB via Huawei’s proprietary ‘Nano Memory Card’. It is similar to the size of a nano-SIM card.
The Mate 20 Pro is powered by a 4,200mAh battery with support for 40W fast charging that claims to fill up 70 percent battery in 30 minutes. The device can be charged wirelessly as well. Users can also charge other devices using the Mate 20 Pro thanks to the reverse wireless charging feature. On the software front, the device runs the latest Android 9.0 Pie layered with EMUI 9.0 interface.
As far as connectivity is concerned, the Mate 20 Pro is a dual-SIM smartphone which accepts nano-SIM cards. The device doesn’t feature a 3.5mm headphone jack and makes use of a Type-C port instead. There are various sensors like Gravity, Ambient Light, Proximity, Gyroscope, Compass and Infrared sensor. All the basic connectivity options like, 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are supported on this device.
Pricing & Availability:
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is priced at Rs 69,990 in India. As a part of the launch offer, the device will also be available at Rs 71,990, bundled with a Senheisser headset worth Rs 29,990. The device is an Amazon exclusive and will go on sale starting from December 3rd for Prime members.
