Huawei launched the Mate X at a pre-MWC event last month and called it the fastest foldable 5G smartphone of the world. The company has now officially stated that the phone will launch in India this year. The foldable gadget boasts of the premium Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor, triple rear cameras and 8GB of RAM.
Huawei Mate X: specifications and features
The Huawei Mate X has two display panels of 6.6-inches and 6.38-inches. They have a resolution of 2,480 x 1,148 pixels and 2,480 x 892 pixels, respectively. The Falcon Wing Machine Hinge is the reason behind its sleek look and when opened, the two displays join to form an 8-inch 8:7.1 aspect ratio OLED display panel. The resolution of the phone then becomes 2,480 x 2,200 pixels and the total thickness is 11mm. It supports multi-window use and two column browsing as well.
Performance-wise, the Huawei Mate X relies on the latest Huawei HiSilicon 980 octa-core processor in association with the Balong 5000 7nm 5G multi-mode modem. The performance is further enhanced by 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The foldable device doesn’t need separate rear and front cameras and hence, the triple setup by Leica acts as both. The configuration is 40MP + 16MP + 8MP and includes an LED Flash as well. The cameras have a mirror shooting feature which lets users see the image as it is being taken.
The device supports 4G VoLTE and 5G, lacks a headphone jack and has a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button. The Huawei Mate X has a humongous 4,500mAh battery with support for 55W Huawei SuperCharge. Since it was launched at a price of €2,299, we can expect it to have a Rs 1,85,000 (approx) price tag in India. Are you excited about the offering to launch?
