The Huawei Matebook 13 is the latest entry-level laptop from the company. The notebook was announced alongside MediaPad M5 Youth Edition and Enjoy Tablet yesterday in China.
Huawei MateBook 13 Specifications and Features
The Huawei MateBook 13 is fitted with a 13.3-inch screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels and aspect ratio of 3:2. With ultra-thin bezels around the display, it offers an impressive screen space of 88 percent. The display carries support for 100 percent sRGB color gamut and offers brightness of up to 300 nits.
The MateBook 13 comes in three color variants – Silver, Gray and Rose Gold. It is made entirely out of metal and it weighs only 1.28 kg. The thickness of the MateBook 13 is 14.9 mm.
The base model of the Huawei MateBook 13 includes Intel Core i5-82865U processor and Intel UHD 620 graphics. The higher model of the notebook features an Intel Core i7-8565U CPU and NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics. Both the devices are equipped with 8 GB of RAM of LPDDR3 RAM and 256 GB of SSD storage.
The MateBook 13 is packed with a 42W battery. For smooth performance during heavy usage, the Huawei MateBook 13 features a dual heat pipe and dual fan that works at 8,000 RPM.
Huawei MateBook 13 is equipped with Huawei Share 3.0 technology which is an NFC-based service that makes it possible to establish connection between a PC and a smartphone. The NFC sensor is placed on the right-side palm rest of the MateBook 13. Only NFC-enabled Huawei phones can be placed at the NFC area on the laptop to establish connection and perform data transfer at the rate of 30 MB/S. In other words, it would take only 2 seconds to transfer 1,000 files from Mate 20 series phone to MateBook 13 through Huawei Share 3.0.
For security, the MateBook 13 features a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. When it comes to connectivity and ports, the notebook offers features like Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, two USB-C ports and 3.5mm audio jack. The MateBook 13 is loaded with Windows 10 Home Edition. There is a 1-megapixel camera on the device that is sufficient for video calling.
Huawei MateBook 13 Pricing and Release Date
The Chinese manufacturer did not reveal the cost of the MateBook 13 at its launch event, but it has confirmed that it will be available in its home market from next month. The MateBook X was launched with a pricing of 7,988 Yuan. Hence, it is likely that the MateBook 13 could be arriving with a cheaper price tag than MateBook X.
