Huawei MateBook E 2019 with Snapdragon 850 and 4G LTE Announced

Yesterday, Huawei held a launch event in Shanghai to announce the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones for the Chinese market. At the same event, the company unveiled the MateBook E 2019 always-connected 4G LTE laptop. The 2-in-1 laptop-tablet hybrid is powered by the Snapdragon 850 chipset. It has arrived as the successor to the MateBook E from 2017.

The MateBook E 2019 has a 12-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,440 pixels. Apart from supporting 2K resolution, the display carries support for 350-nits brightness, a 160-degree viewing angle and an oleophobic coating. It is a TUV Rheinland-certified screen which ensures that the user’s eyes are protected from blue rays emitted by the display.

The MateBook E 2019 is fueled by the Snapdragon 850 processor and 8GB of RAM. It comes in two UFS storage choices of 256GB and 512GB. It is packed with a 36.3W battery. The company claims that the device can last for nearly 10 hours with 50 percent brightness and continuous video playback. The MateBook E 2019 carries support for fast charging. It takes 1.5 hours for the device to gain 88 percent power.

The device runs Windows 10 Home edition. It comes with the Huawei Share 3.0 One Touch feature which makes it possible to establish a seamless connection with a smartphone for file transfers by simply placing it on the keyboard.

The rear of the MateBook E 2019 features a 13-megapixel camera. Sitting on the front is a 5-megapixel camera. For an immersive audio experience, it comes with dual speakers powered with Dolby Atmos and dual SmartPA amplifier.

When it comes to connectivity, the MateBook E 2019 carries support 4G LTE with 4×4 MIMI antenna for a stronger connection, nano-SIM card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C and 3.5mm audio jack. It is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The MateBook E 2019 measures 278 x 194.22 x 8.5mm without the optional keyboard. The device weighs 1.173kg with the keyboard. Huawei is selling the M Pen Lite Stylus separately for the MateBook E 2019. As far as the keyboard is concerned, it can also function as a kickstand to transform the tablet into a laptop.

Huawei MateBook E 2019 Price and Release Date

The Huawei MateBook E 2019 comes in two colours such as Titanium Ash and Charm Blue Sea. Its 256GB and 512GB storage variants are priced at 3,999 Yuan (~Rs 41,250) and 4,999 Yuan (~Rs 51,570) respectively. These models are now up for pre-orders through company’s Vmall official online store in China. There is no word on the international availability of the MateBook E 2019 yet.
