Huawei had launched an affordable tablet called the MatePad T8 in May 2020 alongside the Huawei Y5p and Y6p smartphones. The brand then teased the launch of the tablet in India back in July through a puzzle, which revealed the name of the tablet when solved. The Huawei MatePad T8 has now finally been launched in India.
Huawei is marketing the latest tablet as an educational tool for kids. The new tablet comes with octa-core processor, metal body, long battery life and Android 10, to name a few. Huawei has launched the MatePad T8 in two variants – Wi-Fi and LTE, which will go on sale in India starting September 8th.
Huawei MatePad T8 specifications and features
The Huawei MatePad T8 is equipped with an 8-inch LCD display with 800 x 1,280 pixels resolution. The display features an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio and thick bezels. It is powerd by an octa-core MediaTek MTK MT8768 processor backed by IMG GE8320 GPU. Huawei is offering the tablet in 2GB + 16GB and 2GB + 32GB configurations.
Coming to the cameras, the Huawei MatePad T8 ships with a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel selfie camera in the front. The camera app offers features such as panorama, HDR, beauty mode, timing photography, voice control photography and others.
The Huawei MatePad T8 boots EMUI 10.0.1 based on Android 10 out of the box and is powered by 5,100mAh battery with 10W charging. Huawei claims that on a full charge, the battery can offer up to 12 hours of local video playback and webpage browsing, and up to 75 hours of audio playback. Other features include face unlock, parental controls, posture alert, and a multi-layered eye protection feature.
Huawei MatePad T8 price in India
Huawei has priced the Wi-Fi and LTE variants of the MediaPad T8 at Rs 9,999 and Rs 10,999, respectively. However — as part of the pre-order offer — the LTE variant will be available for Rs 9,999 till September 14th, 2020.
