Huawei had announced the MediaPad M5 Lite in China back in March this year. Now the company has partnered with Flipkart to launch the tablet in India. The MediaPad M5 Lite will be launched on September 23rd with sales commencing from September 29th, during Flipkart’s Big Billion Days Sale.
The Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite features a 10.1-inch display bearing FHD+ resolution. There is a physical home button below the screen and the device lacks a fingerprint scanner. The tablet comes with support for stylus which Huawei calls M-Pen. It features a Silver Gray metal body and offers 2,048 layers of pressure sensitivity. On the audio front, the Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite is equipped with quad-speakers with Harman Kardon tuning. The tablet comes with 8MP cameras on the front and rear with full HD video recording.
In terms of hardware, the Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 chipset. It will be available in 3GB and 4GB RAM configurations with the former offering 32GB internal storage and the latter coming with 64GB onboard storage. The tablet is backed by a 7,500mAh battery unit and is claimed to last over 15 hours.
Software-wise, the tablet runs on Android 8 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 on the top. There is a parental control feature that lets parents set limits for children’s usage. The tablet also offers 5 enhanced eye-comfort modes to protect the child’s eyesight.
Huawei is expected to price the MediaPad M5 Lite similarly compared to the China variant. We will know about the price of the upcoming tablet on September 23rd.
