Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite with 8-inch Display and 5,100mAh Battery Announced in China

Apart from launching the Huawei Enjoy 9s and Enjoy 9e smartphones, Huawei has also unveiled the MediaPad M5 Lite tablet in China. The latest tablet from the company comes with a display measuring 8-inches. Moreover, the device is equipped with a powerful SoC and a big battery. It can be availed in Wi-Fi only and 4G LTE editions.

Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite Specifications and Features

The MediaPad M5 Lite is fitted with an 8-inch screen that features a full HD+ resolution (1,200 x 1,920 pixels). The slate measures 204 x 122.2 x 8.2mm and weighs 310 grams. The Harmon Kardon-certified slate is equipped with Histen 3D audio technology from Huawei. Powering the handset is a 12nm Kirin 710 octa-core chipset that’s clocked at 2.2GHz.


The 3 GB RAM and 4 GB RAM variants of the MediaPad M5 Lite respectively feature 32 GB and 64 GB of native storage. For additional storage, the device lets you make use of a microSD card. A 5,100mAh battery keeps the tablet running.

There is an autofocus-enabled 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture on the back of the Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite. An 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture is also available on the device. The EMUI 9.0-flavoured Android 9 Pie OS comes preinstalled on the device. The connectivity features present on the M5 Lite include Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, 4G LTE and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. Sadly, the device lacks support fora fingerprint scanner.


Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite Price

The Wi-Fi-only 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage MediaPad M5 Lite with is priced at 1,199 Yuan (~Rs. 12,300). In comparison. the Wi-Fi-only 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant is priced at 1,399 Yuan (~Rs. 14,300).

The Wi-Fi + 4G LTE enabled with 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage editions of the MediaPad M5 Lite are priced at 1,499 Yuan (~Rs 15,400) and 1,699 Yuan (~Rs 17,500), respectively. The MediaPad M5 Lite is available in two colour options of Dark Grey and Champagne Gold.
