Huawei has expanded its tablet portfolio by launching the MediaPad M5 Youth Edition in China. The latest model is available in two variants: Wi-Fi and cellular. Let’s find out the technical specifications of the device:
On the display front, the MediaPad M5 Youth Edition features a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. It supports the M-pen Lite Stylus which can detect up to 2,048 points for accuracy. For unlocking the device, the fingerprint scanner is embedded in the home button.
Coming to the camera, the M5 Youth Edition features a 8MP f/2.0 rear autofocus camera. On the front, there is a 8MP sensor fitted with fixed focal length. Video recording on this tablet is limited to 1080p.
Under the hood, the M5 Youth Edition is equipped with Huawei’s Kirin 659 SoC. It is paired with 4GB RAM for seamless performance. The device offers 64GB internal memory and can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card for additional needs. On the software front, the M5 Youth Edition runs EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
The MediaPad M5 Youth Edition is backed by a 7,500mAh battery with support for fast charging. Connectivity-wise, there is a USB Type-C port, GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Pricing & Availability:
The Wi-Fi only variant is priced at 1,899 Yuan (~Rs 20,000) while the cellular variant bears a price tag of 2,099 Yuan (~Rs 22,100). The former is available in Gold/Gray color options and the later ships in only a Gold color. The tablet has gone up for pre-order on Huawei’s official online store in China
