Today, Huawei had held an event in China to launch the Nova 5 series of smartphones. At the same event, it also announced its MediaPad M6 flagship tablets. The M6 comes in 10.8-inch and 8.4-inch editions. Both the devices are powered by the Kirin 980 chipset and are equipped with quad speakers.
Huawei MediaPad M6 Specifications and Features
The MediaPad M6 10.8-inch and 8.4-inch feature quad HD resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. Both tablets are equipped with display enhancement technology and TUV certification to prevent damage to vision. Since these tablets are built to deliver a multimedia experience, its display is surrounded by thicker bezels so that users can hold them comfortably.
The 7nm Kirin 980 chipset is present under the hood of both devices. With a powerful SoC inside and GPU Turbo 3.0 technology onboard, the M6 tablets can offer a stellar gaming experience. The 10.8-inch model has a 7,100mAh battery whereas the 8.4-inch variant has 6,100mAh battery. Both devices carry support for 18W fast charging.
The MediaPad M6 10.8 and 8.4 models come with up 128GB of built-in storage and 4GB of RAM. Both the devices are equipped with a microSD card slot. Android 9 Pie overlaid with EMUI 9.1 handles the software on the tablets.
In terms of photography, the MediaPad M6 models come with 8-megpixel fixed focus front cameras and a 13-megapixel autofocus enabled rear cameras. They feature quad speakers tuned by Harman Kardon. The connectivity features available on M6 tablets include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and USB Type-C, however the 3.5mm audio jack is missing. Like the MediaPad M5, the 10.8-inch model of the MediaPad M6 also supports the 2048-level M-Pen stylus and a magnetic keyboard to use it as a notebook.
Huawei MediaPad M6 Price and Release Date
The 8.4-inch MediaPad M6 Wi-Fi only models with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage are priced at 1,999 Yuan (~Rs 20,250) and 2,399 Yuan (~Rs 24,300) respectively. The LTE variants cost 2,399 Yuan (~Rs 24,300) and 2,699 Yuan (~Rs 27,340) respectively.
The 10.8-inch MediaPad Wi-Fi only models with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage cost 2,299 Yuan (~Rs 23,290) and 2,699 Yuan (~Rs 27,340) respectively. The LTE models carry price tags of 2,699 Yuan (~Rs 27,340) and 3,499 Yuan (~Rs 35,450) respectively.
The pre-orders of the MediaPad M6 tablets will start on July 10th in China followed by its market release on July 20th. It will be available in Champagne Gold and Silver Ash color options.
