Huawei Nova 5z with Kirin 810 and 48MP quad cameras launched in China: price, specifications

Huawei has been consistently expanding its Nova 5 family. In June, it had launched the Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro and Nova 5i smartphones. In July, the brand launched the Nova 5i Pro, while in August, the Chinese firm had announced the Kirin 980-powered Nova 5T flagship. Now, it has introduced the Huawei Nova 5z that comes with some exciting features like a punch-hole display, quad rear-mounted cameras and a Kirin 810 chipset.

The Huawei Nova 5z has a metal and glass chassis measuring 156.1 x 73.9 x 8.3mm and weighing 178 grams. There is 3D hyperboloid glass on the back panel of the phone. It is equipped with a 6.26-inch full HD+ display that offers a tall aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It comes with support for the DCI-P3 wide color gamut.

It is driven by the 7mm Kirin 810 chipset that’s clocked at 2.27GHz. The SoC is coupled with 6GB of RAM. The smartphone can be bought in 64GB and 128GB storage options. For expanding its storage, the handset features a nanoSD card slot. Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.1.1 comes pre-loaded on the device. The smartphone draws power from a 4,000mAh battery with up to 20W fast charging.

There is a square camera module placed above the fingerprint scanner on the rear of the Huawei Nova 5z. It has a main 48-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture, a superwide 8-megapixel lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The usual connectivity features such as dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11c, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C and a 3.5mm audio jack can be found on the Nova 5z.

The first sale of the Huawei Nova 5z will be carried out in China on November 1st. The smartphone is now available for pre-order through the company’s Vmall online store in its home market. The 64GB and 128GB variants of the Huawei Nova 5z are priced at RMB 1,599 ( 16,000) and RMB 1,799 (~Rs 18,000) respectively. It is available in Black, Blue and Green colour variants. There is no word on its availability outside of China as of now.
