Huawei Nova 7 5G, Nova 7 Pro 5G and Nova 7 SE launched in China: price, specifications

Huawei has expanded its Nova series of smartphones in China with the addition of three new devices today – Nova 7 5G, Nova 7 Pro 5G and Nova 7 SE. These smartphones come as the successor to the Nova 6 series from last year, which comprised of the Nova 6, Nova 6 5G and Nova 6 SE. The latest launches flaunt quad-camera setups, loaded processors and more as their key highlights. Moreover, all the Nova series smartphones this year come with the support for 5G connectivity. The Huawei Nova 7 5G flaunts a 6.53-inch OLED display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate and full-HD+ panel. Powering the smartphone is the in-house Kirin 985 SoC with 5G connectivity. The processor is further accompanied by 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage, which is further expandable through microSD card. Coming to the cameras, the smartphone sports a 64MP f/1.8 primary, 8MP f/2.4 ultra-wide, 8MP f/2.4 telephoto and 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor setup on the back. On the front, the punch-hole cutout houses a single 32MP selfie shooter. The Nova 7 Pro 5G boots Android 10 with EMUI 10.1 on top. The smartphone misses out on Google apps and services due to Huawei’s ban in the US, and ship with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) instead. It is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. For security, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner.

As for the Nova 7 Pro 5G variant, it comes with a larger 6.57-inch curved full HD+ OLED display. The handset features the same camera setup as the standard Nova 7, but with an exception of the 8MP periscope-styled lens that replaces the 8MP telephoto sensor and offers 50X digital zoom. The 32MP selfie shooter is accompanied by an 8MP secondary camera. The rest of the specs are the same as that of the standard Nova 7 5G. Connectivity-wise, both smartphones offer 5G SA / NSA, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and USB-C.

The Huawei Nova 7 SE is the most affordable of the line-up and comes with a 6.5-inch LCD panel with full HD+ screen resolution.  Powering the handset is the HiSilicon Kirin 820 5G chipset and it gets the same variants as the Nova 7 and 7 Pro. In the camera department, the handset sports a quad-camera setup featuring a 64MP primary sensor backed by an 8MP wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor. The front camera is a 16MP unit sitting inside the single punch-hole cutout. Unlike the in-display fingerprint scanner on the other two models, the SE variant gets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Other features of the smartphone are similar to its pricier siblings.

The Huawei Nova 7 5G will set you back by RMB 2,999 (~Rs 32,200) and RMB 3,399 (~Rs 36,500) for the 128GB and 256GB variants, respectively. The Pro variant, on the other hand, will cost RMB 3,699 (~Rs 39,750) for the base variant and RMB 4,099 (~Rs 44,000) for the top-end model. Lastly, the Huawei Nova 7 SE will retail at RMB 2,399 (~Rs 25,780) and RMB 2,799(~Rs 30,000) for the 128GB and 256GB variants, respectively. These smartphones are already up for pre-booking in China and will go on sale starting April 28th. Huawei is offering Nova 7SE in Magic Night Black, Silver Moon Star (White), Wonderland Forest (Green) and Midsummer Purple colour options. The Huawei Nova 7 5G and Nova Pro 5G are being offered in Bright Black, Midsummer Purple, Wonderland Forest (Green), Honey Red, and Color 7 (White) colours.
