Exclusive: Huawei Nova 7i launching in India in July

Huawei launched the re-branded version of its Nova 6e smartphone, the Nova 7i in Malaysia earlier this year. The Nova 6e was a mid-range phone launched in China last year. The Nova 7i features the same specifications as the Nova 6e, including the quad rear cameras, punch-hole display and Kirin 810 chipset.

Pricebaba has now learned via a trusted source that Huawei plans to launch the Nova 7i in India next month. Unfortunately, the exact launch date and pricing details aren’t known yet.

Huawei Nova 7i specifications and features

The Huawei Nova 7i does not feature support for Google apps and services

To recap on the specs, the Nova 7i comes with a 6.4-inch display bearing full HD+ resolution and a punch-hole camera cutout. Powering the smartphone is an octa-core Kirin 810 processor paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The onboard storage can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. Out of the box, the handset boots EMUI 10 based on Android 10, but since it was launched without Google apps and services in Malaysia, the same can be expected for the India variant as well.

As for the optics, the Huawei Nova 7i features a quad-camera setup on the back comprising a 48MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro shooter and 2MP depth camera. The punch-hole cutout on the front features a 16MP selfie camera.

For security, the Huawei Nova 7i features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone is powered by a 4,200mAh battery with support for 40W SuperCharge technology. Connectivity options on offer include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-C and GPS.

Huawei Nova 7i pricing and availability

The Huawei Nova 7i retails at RM 1,099 (~Rs 18,900) in Malaysia, and we can expect a sub-Rs 20,000 price when it launches in India as well. Huawei offers the Nova 7i in three colour options – Sakura Pink, Midnight Black, Crush Green. We expect the phone to go on sale in India next month.
