The Huawei Nova 8i and MatePad 11 have been launched. Announced in Malaysia, the Nova 8i phone is a mid-range smartphone that offers an impressive design and decent specs.

Huawei Nova 8i features a Snapdragon 662 chip

The Huawei Nova 8i has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen that offers FHD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,376 pixels and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. There is a pill-shaped cutout on the screen that houses a 16-megapixel selfie camera and an unknown sensor.

The Nova 8i features a circular camera on the back, which appears similar to the Mate 30 Pro flagship. It includes a 64-megapixel main camera with an f/1.9 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

The Snapdragon 662 chip fuels the Nova 8i with 8GB of RAM. It offers a native storage of 128GB and runs Android 10 with Huawei’s EMU 11 skin on top. It is backed by a 4,300mAh battery that supports 66W rapid charging. It comes with other features like dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Huawei MatePad 11 offers a 120Hz display

The MatePad 11 has a 10.95-inch IPS LCD display that offers 2,560 x 1,600 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 865 and 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM power the MatePad 11, and it comes with up to 256GB of built-in storage. The device runs Huawei’s Harmony OS 2.

The tablet is fuelled by a 7,250mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging. For photography, it has an 8-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera. Other features of the tablet include quad speakers, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

The Huawei Nova 8i comes in a single variant of 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and it is priced at RM 1,299 (~Rs 23,300) in Malaysia. The phone comes in three colours such as Starry Black, Moonlight Silver, and Interstellar Blue.

On the other hand, the 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB editions of the MatePad 11 are priced at RMB 2,499 (~Rs 28,900), RMB 2,799 (~Rs 32,300), and RMB 3,299 (~Rs 38,000), respectively. It comes in three colours such as Island Blue, Dark Lime, and Frosted Silver.
