Exclusive: Huawei P30 Pro New Edition appears in Silver Frost colour, shows design identical to the P30 Pro

Huawei launched its flagship series comprising the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro at an event held in Paris last year. The brand went on to launch the P30 Lite and the P30 Pro in India soon after. Several reports have claimed that the company will be launching an all new model of the P30 Pro, called the “Huawei P30 Pro New Edition” this month, which will come with support for Google Mobile Services.

Pricebaba has now obtained an official looking render of the P30 Pro New Edition from tipster Ishan Agarwal. The render depicts the upcoming smartphone in a new Silver Frost colour.

The Huawei P30 Pro New Edition will come in a new Silver Frost colour option

As you can see in the render above, the upcoming Huawei P30 Pro New Edition is identical to the P30 Pro design-wise. The only obvious difference is the paint job, which is a Silver Frost colour, previously seen on the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro. Agarwal has confirmed that the P30 Pro New Edition will feature GMS, and launch in Europe shortly.

Due to the ongoing restrictions by the US government, Huawei’s new phones, including the P40 series flagships, have been launched without Google apps and services onboard. This hasn’t worked out well for the company, which has devised a workaround by launching rebranded versions of existing phones which come with access to the Play Store.

Huawei P30 Pro specifications and features

Given that the P30 Pro New Edition is expected to be identical to the P30 Pro (barring the variants, perhaps), we have a fair idea of the specs it will offer. The P30 Pro features a 6.47-inch curved OLED display with full HD+ resolution and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The handset is powered by the 7nm Kirin 980 chipset along with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, which can be expanded further with a nanoSD card. The phone runs EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie and is powered by a 4,200mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging, 15W fast wireless charging and reverse charging.

Coming to cameras, the Huawei P30 Pro offers a 40-megapixel primary camera accompanied by a 20-megapixel ultra-wide camera, an 8MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS and 5x optical zoom, and a ToF 3D sensor. In the front, the smartphone features a waterdrop notch housing a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
