Huawei P30 Pro and P30 Lite Launched in India: Price, Specifications

Last month, Huawei held a global launch event in Paris to announce the P30 and P30 Pro flagship smartphones. Today, the company has announced the P30 Pro and P30 Lite smartphones in India. The Huawei P30 however is not launching for the Indian market. The P30 Pro and P30 Lite phones will be succeeding the Huawei P20 Pro and P20 Lite phones from last year. The Huawei P30 Pro is a fully loaded flagship with quad rear cameras and 10x hybrid zoom. The P30 Lite boasts a similar design to the P30 Pro and comes with mid-range specifications.

Huawei P30 Pro Specifications and Features

The Huawei P30 Pro comes with a metal and glass frame and features a 6.47-inch curved OLED display with full HD+ resolution. The dewdrop notch display offers a tall aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Huawei has embedded a fingerprint sensor under the display of the P30 Pro. The smartphone comes with an IP68-rated dustproof and waterproof chassis.

The 7nm Kirin 980 chipset along with 8GB of RAM powers the smartphone. It comes with an internal storage of 256GB. It features a nanoSD card slot for additional storage. It is backed by a 4,200mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging, 15W fast wireless charging and reverse charging.

The back panel of the Huawei P30 Pro features a 40-megapixel RYYB primary sensor. It is an OIS enabled wide-angle lens with f/1.7 aperture. It is assisted by a 20-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS and 5x optical zoom. A ToF 3D lens is the fourth camera sensor on the P30 Pro. The Leica-engineered quad camera setup is equipped with a dual-LED flash and supports 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom.

Placed on the front is an f/2.0 32-megapixel selfie camera. The phone runs EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie. The smartphone lacks support for a 3.5mm audio jack. Its connectivity features include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C.

Huawei P30 Lite Specifications and Features

The Huawei P30 Lite also features a dewdrop notch display like the P30 Pro. However, it is equipped with a flat IPS LCD panel surrounded by slightly thicker bezels. The 6.15-inch screen of the P30 Lite features full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,312 pixels.

The phone is powered by a 12nm Kirin 710 chipset and comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, both with 128GB storage. It carries support for a microSD card slot for extra storage. The 3,340mAh battery of the phone supports 18W fast charging. The EMUI 9 flavored Android 9 Pie comes preinstalled on the P30 Lite.

The rear side of the Huawei P30 Lite features an LED flash enabled triple camera setup with a 24-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle secondary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For capturing selfies, it features a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone also features a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. The connectivity features available on the P30 Lite are dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C and 3.5mm audio jack.

Huawei P30 Pro and P30 Lite Price and Release Date

The Huawei P30 Pro is priced at Rs 71,990 and will be available in Breathing Crystal and Aurora colour options. Users can pay an extra Rs 2,000 to get a Huawei Watch GT worth Rs 15,990. The P30 Lite is priced at Rs 19,990 and Rs 22,990 for the 4GB and 6GB RAM variants respectively, and will be available in Midnight Black and Peacock Blue colours. The P30 Pro will go on sale starting April 16th on Amazon (April 15th for Prime members), and on April 19th at Croma stores. The P30 Lite will be available starting April 26th on Amazon (April 25th for Prime members) and early next month across Croma stores.
