Huawei had launched its flagship P40 series in March this year. The lineup consists of a standard P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Pro+. Now, the Chinese smartphone maker has introduced a new device in the series dubbed as P40 Lite 5G. Notably, Huawei had launched the P40 Lite earlier in February, but it was a rebranded version of Huawei Nova 6 SE. The latest P40 Lite is slightly different and comes with upgraded specifications. However, it appears to be a rebadged version of the Nova 7 SE 5G announced last month in China. The P40 Lite is also a stripped-down variant of the standard P40. Huawei P40 Lite 5G specifications and features
The Huawei P40 Lite 5G features a 6.5-inch LCD display bearing FHD+ resolution. It comes with HDR10 support and a punch-hole cutout at the top left corner. The device sports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. There is a rectangular quad-camera module on the back. The Huawei P40 Lite 5G is offered in Space Silver, Crush Green and Midnight Black colour variants.
In terms of optics, the quad-camera setup on Huawei P40 Lite 5G comprises a 64MP main shooter, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor. The device features a 16MP selfie snapper.
On the hardware front, the Huawei P40 Lite 5G is powered by Kirin 820 5G chipset. It packs 6GB RAM and offers 128GB internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB. The P40 Lite 5G is backed by a 4,000mAh battery unit with support for 40W fast charging. Software-wise, it runs EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone offers 5G, 4G VoLTE, NFC, USB-C port, and 3.5mm jack.

The Huawei P40 Lite 5G carries a price tag of €399 (~Rs 32,800). It is up for pre-order with sales commencing from May 29th. There is no word on India availability yet.
