Huawei Watch GT and Band 3 Pro Officially Announced

Huawei held a mega launch event in London through which it unveiled the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20X and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design smartphones. Apart from launching new smartphones, the event was also used to announce new wearables such as the Huawei Watch GT and Band 3 Pro. The Watch GT is a feature-rich smartwatch whereas the Band 3 Pro is a fitness tracker.

Huawei Watch GT Specifications, Features and Pricing

The Huawei Watch GT has been introduced in two versions, namely, Watch GT Sport and Watch GT Classic. The Classic variant sports a leather band whereas the Sport model comes in multiple silicone band options. Both the models are equipped with a 1.39-inch round-shaped AMOLED screen that produces 454 x 254 pixels resolution. The screen carries support for slide and touch gestures. These smartwatches are packed with 420mAh batteries.

The Watch GT models do not run on Android Wear. Instead, the company has loaded its own LiteOS on the smartwatch. Since it is not an Android Wear device, it lacks support for third-party apps. The inclusion of LiteOS improves the battery life on Watch GT. The smartwatch is compatible with devices running on Android 4.4 or higher and iOS 9.0 or later. For connectivity, is only equipped with Bluetooth 4.2. The Watch GT equipped with 128 GB of internal storage and 16 MB of RAM.

According to Huawei, the Watch GT is the world’s first smartwatch with double chipset architecture that delivers up to 30 days of battery life. When it comes to battery performance, the Watch GT can last for up to 2 weeks on a single charge with 90-minutes daily exercise and the heart rate monitor kept on. With features such as heart rate sensor, GPS, exercise tracker and always-on display turned on, the smartwatch can last for nearly 22 hours. The Watch GT can last for a full month with single charge when features like GPS, exercise tracking and notifications are deactivated.

The smartwatch automatically switches to low power consumption mode while the user is sleeping or during sedentary activities. For accurate heart rate monitoring, Huawei has included its AI-based TruSeen heart rate technology on the Watch GT. It supports various kinds of workouts like swimming, running and hiking. It also includes a coach mode.

The Huawei Watch GT features a stainless steel 316L grade chassis with DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating and ceramic bezels. It offers 5ATM water resistance. For navigation, the Watch GT has two crowns.

The Watch GT comes in silicon strap options such as Graphite Black, Glacier Grey, Fluorescent Green and Saddle Brown (leather). The Watch GT Sport is priced at 199 euros (~Rs. 16,800) and its Classic variants cost 249 euros (~Rs. 21,100). The Chinese manufacturer is yet to confirm on the release dates of the Watch GT variants.

Huawei Band 3 Pro Specifications, Features and Pricing

The Huawei Band 3 Pro is fitted with 0.95-inch AMOLED color display that is protected by 2.5D glass and an UV coating. Its frame is made out of metal and it features a soft silicone strap. The Band 3 Pro also offers 5ATM water resistance.

The Band 3 Pro fitness tracker is packed with many health and fitness features. It can precisely track heart rate through TruSeen 3.0 heart monitoring system. The sleep tracking feature can assist in correcting common sleep-related problems through TruSleep 2.0 sleep-tracking system. It is equipped with GPS and it can be used for checking notifications for messages, incoming calls and can also reject calls. The device features Bluetooth 4.2 for pairing it to a smartphone.

The Band 3 Pro is priced 99 euros (~Rs. 8,400) and it can be bought in colors like Obsidian Black, Space Blue and Quicksand Gold. The company is yet to confirm its availability.
