Huawei Y5 Lite with 18:9 display and Android Go Announced

The Huawei Y5 Lite is the newest Android Go phone to go official. The smartphone is equipped with a tall aspect ratio display and runs and a stripped-down version of Android Oreo OS. The Y5 Lite has been made official in Pakistan and it is likely to be available in other emerging markets in the near future.

Huawei Y5 Lite Specifications and Features

The Huawei Y5 Lite that features a metal and polycarbonate combination chassis weighs 142 grams and measures 147 x 71 x 8.3mm. An IPS LCD FullView screen of 5.45 inches that features HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels is present on the smartphone. It offers a tall aspect ratio of 18:9.

The MediaTek MT6739 chipset is the driving force of the Y5 Lite. To keep the lights on, it features a 3,020mAh battery. Apart from packing Go versions of apps like Google, YouTube, Gmail, Maps and so on, the Y5 Lite comes with an innate ability to adjust the volume during phone calls for a better hearing experience in noisy areas.

Like other Android Go smartphones, the Huawei Y5 Lite has 1GB of RAM. For storage, it provides users with inbuilt memory of 16GB and a microSD card slot. There is an LED flash enabled front-facing camera of 5-megapixels with f/2.2 aperture. On the rear is an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture, autofocus and LED flash. There is no fingerprint scanner on the device.

The Huawei Y5 Lite is available for purchase in Pakistan for PKR 16,500 (~Rs 8,200). Blue and Black are the two colour options of the smartphone. There is no word on its availability in India.
